For most athletes, no. Nomen handles the full workflow — 1099 collection, deduction identification, and e-filing — without a CPA. If you have unusually complex finances (significant investment income, multiple LLCs, etc.) a CPA is still a good idea. Nomen exports your data in a format any accountant can use.
Nomen automatically requests 1099 forms from every brand and collective in your deal tracker. If a brand misses the deadline, Nomen follows up on your behalf. You're still required to report the income even without a 1099, and Nomen tracks everything so your return is accurate regardless.
